Ricardo talked about the "essential" question--"Was Michelangelo gay?" saying that if he was, it was probably never consummated, Michelangelo being a "religious man". (Leonardo was, on the other hand, arrested, tried and convicted of homosexual acts.) Of course one could say, "What difference does it make?" The art is what is interesting, not who slept or didn't sleep with who. That is a tiresome topic for speculation these days.
